Provided media interaction skills training for over 30 Somali women and youth civil society leaders in Hargeisa, Somaliland for BBC Media Action. Trainees learnt how to:
– use cameras, voice recorders and video cameras
– host press conferences, including managing their own personal anxiety when speaking publicly; enhancing personal delivery in vocal, verbal and visual areas; projecting control and confidence when presenting to the media; implementing persuasive communication techniques and handling Q&A sessions in press conferences or media events, etc
They also learnt how to:
– write and send out effective press releases;
– organize media events;
– and creative ways of communicating messages to the media.
