Ensured the smooth running of the news-talk station as it restructured, expanded and re-branded. Significant accomplishments:

  • Implemented aggressive sales and marketing strategies, raising revenue by over 150%.
  • Spearheaded a series of corporate and CSR events, including a clean-up of Mombasa’s largest markets
  • Ran the largest public screening of World Cup 2010 in Mombasa. Leveraged the month-long event to launch an anti-drug abuse campaign, raise Radio Salaam’s profile & triple advertising revenue
  • Reinvented the station’s website making it Kenya’s first Kiswahili news site. Introduced live-streaming, further boosting hits by +300 percent
  • Launched print, digital, and billboard advertising campaigns in five major towns
  • Oversaw complete re-training and upgrading of skills (writing, editing, production and technical training) for over 30 staff members
  • Produced the station’s first Staff Manual, first Editorial Policy and its first Salary Harmonization Guide
