As a Coordination Associate in the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in the Islamic Republic of Iran, I coordinated the joint advocacy activities of 12 UN organizations.
Significant achievements include:
• Spearheading the creation of a joint Communications Strategy shared by all 12 UN agencies. The document was lauded as a “best practice” by regional UN office
• Editing and ushering the UNDAF report and Iran’s first MDG progress report through publication
• Designing and developing original content for the first UN RC website for Iran
• Serving as the focal point for media & donor relations
• Conceptualizing an 8-week course on Millennium Development Goals for civil servants. The course helped propel completion of Iran’s long-awaited 1st MDGs progress report
• Effectively coordinating HIV/AIDS awareness sessions for over 300 UN staff
